The Swedish Society for Psychosocial Obstetrics and Gynecology, SFPOG, is a national branch of the International Society of Psychosomatic Obstetrics and gynecology, ISPOG.
ISPOG is a forum for international and interdisciplinary cooperation in psychological and social issues related to obstetrics, gynecology and sexology. Individualized membership is open to all professionals within the field, thus a wide range of professions are represented and associated with the society. These are, for example, gynecologists, psychiatrists, midwives, psychologists, social workers, hospital chaplains and physiotherapists.
The objectives of the Society are:
To promote and deepen the understanding of psychological and social aspects of obstetrics, gynecology and sexology.
To promote research and knowledge development in these areas.
To stimulate and support education in psychological and social aspects of obstetrics, gynecology and sexology.
To organize meetings and conferences in these areas.
The Swedish society has about 140 members.
Membership is open to professional people residing in the Nordic countries. Send your request of membership to the Board. Annual fee for 2015 is 250 SEK. Please transfer specified amount to the Swedish postal banking account number 96 98 43-2.
